Meet Rachel
Traveler on the Soul Journey
Rachel grew up in Memphis, Tennessee where she earned an undergraduate in International Relations focusing on Peace and Conflict Resolution. In 2005 Rachel spent 2 months working and studying in Bosnia teaching ESL and doing post-conflict trauma work. From 2006-2007 Rachel lived in Nairobi, Kenya working and attending graduate school focusing on Refugee Management and working extensively on war crime documentation with Darfurian refugees. These experiences led to Rachel's interest in Trauma work.

From 2008-2018 Rachel worked in the restaurant industry and freelance as a social media marketing and customer service consultant. The ethical and life stress issues that surfaced during this work led her onto a path of healing and recovery culminating in her advocacy for social media mental health issues and marketing ethics. This also led her to enrollment in the Metagem Institute's Spiritual Direction two year certification program. Rachel is currently in her practice stage and is looking forward to providing spiritual accompaniment and companionship - particularly to young adults and those who have felt marginalized by traditional religious institutions or experienced religious/spiritual abuse and religious addiction.
SPIRITUAL ACCOMPANIMENT APPROACH
Spiritual Accompaniment utilizes a non directive approach. This means trusting that the Divine is working in every individual drawing that person towards Divine Love. With the non directive approach Spiritual Companions engage in active listening, remaining in constant awareness that the Spirit in every individual is at work. It is our privilege to gently and carefully support you along the your own spiritual journey. As spiritual companions we listen and reflect on what is shared without judgment. A spiritual companion works to keep your life's story in focus even when that is most difficult. Spiritual Companions assist in exploring how what you may be experiencing today is all connected to your sacred life story.
Spiritual companioning can act as a holy container for your thoughts, ideas, yearnings, and daily events and when explored these can offer insights and suggestions to move into deeper relationship with Divine Mystery, the Grounding of all Being (God). In my practice of spiritual companionship I welcome, celebrate and honor all spiritual, cultural and religious backgrounds. This includes those of the LGBTQIA community well as those of the GSM community (Gender and Sexual Minorities). All are welcome here.
INTEREST + TRAINING
These are the areas and demographics I focus on.
“People who've had any genuine spiritual experience always know that they don't know. They are utterly humbled before mystery. They are in awe before the abyss of it all, in wonder at eternity and depth, and a Love, which is incomprehensible to the mind.”
